Ceramic bearings

Ceramic bearings vs steel: Ceramic bearings are better in resistant to chemical and saltwater corrosion, and can withstand high temperatures. They are also commonly used in bicycle and skates due to their high speed and smooth rotation. 608ZZ ceramic bearing is commonly used in these areas. Ceramic bearings come in many variations, typically full ceramic bearings, ceramic with PEEK or PTFE cages, and hybrid ceramic. Hybrid ceramic bearings consist of ceramic and stainless steel components. Ceramic materials that are frequently used are Zirconia (ZrO2) and Si3N4 (Silicon Nitride) or otherwise recognised as black ceramic bearings.
